The Journey

Every martial arts journey is unique. Over more than five decades, Ross Cameron's path has taken him from a young Judo student in New Zealand to an international martial arts educator, coach and mentor. Along the way he has trained under world-class instructors, competed, coached, promoted events and helped develop martial artists, instructors and organisations throughout Australia and internationally. Each stage of that journey has contributed to the philosophy, experience and practical knowledge he shares today.

Ross began training in Judo in New Zealand at the age of four under Mr Ivan Willis. Those early years introduced him to the values of discipline, respect and continuous improvement that would shape his approach to martial arts and life for decades to come.

The Beginning

Training Under Grandmaster Young Ku Yun

As a young martial artist, Ross became a direct student of Grandmaster Young Ku Yun and later lived and trained as a resident instructor at Yun Jung Do Headquarters. This unique opportunity provided an immersive education in traditional martial arts, leadership and instructor development.

Beyond traditional martial arts, Ross expanded his experience into combat sports, competing, coaching and working across multiple disciplines. His involvement in combat sports provided valuable insights into performance, preparation, athlete development and the realities of applying martial arts under pressure.

Sharing Knowledge Internationally

The future of martial arts will not be shaped by organisations.

It will be shaped by instructors.

Every class taught, every student encouraged and every lesson shared contributes to something much bigger than a single club.

Ross is passionate about helping instructors and club owners develop the skills, confidence and leadership needed to create lasting impact within their communities.

Through mentoring, seminars and educational programs, he works to support those who are building the next generation of martial artists, coaches and leaders.

Strong instructors build strong clubs.

Strong clubs build strong communities.

And strong communities change lives.
